Adams State College senior wrestler Kyle Sand (Arvada, Colo.) has been named as the Nov. 18 ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week after he went a perfect 4-0 while defending his Elite Division197-pound title at the Wyoming Cowboy Open. Sand, the reigning NCAA Division II National Champion at 184 pounds, is ranked first in the nation and was named as the RMAC's Preseason Wrestler of the Year.
The ASCGrizzlies.com Player of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll.
A new poll will be posted each Sunday night after all of the Grizzly teams have concluded their competition for the weekend. The votes will be tabulated each Wednesday, when the Athlete of the Week will be announced.
